On April 20, 2023 – The third quarterly meeting has taken place virtually. In this meeting, Mr. Md. Rakibul Islam, Assistant Coordinator of Global Communication Center (GCC), Grameen Communications presented the overall project updates of last four months to Mr. Yota Maruoka, CEO of Three-S Corporation, Japan; Mr. Masao Nakaigawa, Representative Director, MIJW-Dream Project from Mito to the World Association, Japan; and Rafiqul Islam Maruf, PhD, Associate Professor of Kyushu University, Japan who is also one of the major contributors of this Project.  

A quarterly report covering timeline from December 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023 on the project activities performed under GramClean Pilot Program was presented during the meeting. The participants also had a discussion on business model and future expansion prospects of GramClean project as well.

GramClean is an initiative taken by GCC with the aim to develop waste-free model villages. Currently Three-S Corporation, MIJW and GCC are jointly implementing the pilot program on waste management in Chhaygaon, Shariatpur, Bangladesh. All the parties are looking forward to working together in order to develop a sustainable waste management model of Bangladesh leading to “Waste Free Villages”.
