On January 18, 2021 – The second quarterly meeting took place virtually as per the scheduled date where the Business Development and Operations Manager of Global Communication Center (GCC), Grameen Communications presented the overall project activities of the last three months to the CEO of Three-S Corporation, Japan; the Representative Director, MIJW-Dream Project from Mito to the World Association, Japan; and Rafiqul Islam Maruf, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Kyushu University, Japan.  

A quarterly report covering the timeline from November 01, 2020, to January 15, 2021, on the project activities performed under GramClean Pilot Program was presented during the meeting. In addition to that, the report also covers the field visit information which took place from November 30 to December 2, 2020. The objective of this visit by the GCC team was to monitor and regular follow-up GramClean project activities. Among several scheduled meetings with different stakeholders, the team had a meeting with the local advisory committee (11 members) also which was formed in the earlier phase of the project.

The meeting agendas were:

1. The opinion of the local advisory committee members on how to increase the number of monthly subscribers
2. How to raise awareness among village people on waste management
3. Financial sustainability of the project
4. Crowdfunding issue

After prolong discussion on the agendas mentioned above finally the meeting was ended happily with the hope to make Chhaygaon a “Waste Free Model Village”.
